Description
A volunteer, non-profit, community-based organization founded in 2019.
BMHC was created to help meet the mental health needs of diverse Black communities in Canada.
Our work is rooted in access, advocacy and culturally affirming care.
BMHC recognizes the realities of oppression, anti-Black racism, racial trauma, social exclusion, marginalization and stigma. These realities make pathways to care more complex for people of African descent.
BMHC works with community stakeholders to improve access to culturally safe and affirming mental health care through advocacy, research, referrals, capacity development and collaboration.
