The Abary Social And Cultural
Organization was founded in April 1990. Fondly called A.S.C.O. this group is Mississauga based and is a highly ranking respected group among the many prestigious Guyanese groups operating in the GTA.
Deriving its name in recognition of the very important ABARY RIVER in Guyana, A.S.C.O. aspires greatness and is confidently striving to achieve this goal. The group is non-partisan, non-sectarian and is open to anyone with an interest in its objectives.
Daily operations are guided by the collective leadership of seven elected board members with
elections conducted annually.
A.S.C.O. strives to promote fellowship amongst other community organizations and is diligently engaged in promoting friendship in the Guyanese/Canadian and other communities, as evidenced, by our association with the ‘Alliance of Guyanese Canadian Organizations’ And our continuing support of other local groups.
